Raymond "Ray" Belarde
October 6, 1925 - September 28, 2017
Ray who was born in Cowell and raised in Concord passed away with his love ones by his side.
He served in the US Coast Guard during WWII and circumnavigated the globe while transporting troops to Europe and the Pacific. After WWII he owned and operated two restaurants in Concord, 'The White Lantern' at four corners and the 'Taco Lita' in downtown Concord near the Plaza. Ray retired from the P.O. after 20 year + as a letter carrier. He was an avid dancer and was very popular at all the dances he attended. When Ray wasn't dancing he loved to play cribbage and spend time with family. He loved traveling, camping and cooking and catered with his brother Robert. Rays zest for life never waivered and positively affected everyone he knew.
Ray is survived by brother: Bill, Children: Michael, Paul, Linda (Chris), Grandchildren: Jesse, Vanessa, Alina, Brandon, Ashley, Jenna and great grandchildren: Braden, Gabriella, Rio, Giovanni and soon to arrive, Chloe.
There will be a viewing held on October 9th 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Connolly and Taylor in Martinez, CA 925-228-4700
On October 10th from 1~6 there will also be a 'Celebration of life' at Old Marsh Creek Springs Park in Clayton, Ca.
The viewing and celebration of life are open to friends and family.
